Internationalising our artistic practices

Why do we work internationally? Do we find it so important to present our work abroad or is it vital to broaden the context of our work, nurturing a sense of belonging in a multicultural working environment where we could express our diversity?
What is it like to work internationally? How do the conditions and opportunities of our work change and how do our methods, responsibilities and obligations shift? Cristina Carlini from Liv.In.G Living International Getaway and Kelly Diapouli from Busart, organisations dedicated to internationalisation programmes for performing artists in Italy and Greece respectively, set out the main axes on which an artist’s international career can roll and present supporting and promoting programmes with a view to the long-term autonomy and empowerment of the supported artists.
