The role of food and gastronomy in the lives of the Greeks of Asia Minor and their refugee descendants has always been central. With plenty of ingredients, lots of influences, flavors and a lot of imagination, it has a long history but has a creative present. The descendants of Asia Minor Greeks who founded the neighborhood Synoikismos (Settlement) in Ano Elefsina are introduced through the artistic work of Yolanta Markopoulou around a table that combines the past and the living memory of the inhabitants, with the present and the process of creating the performance “E_FYGA MIKRASIA” (I_LEFT ASIA MINOR). With the participation of the performance’s contributors and the members of the Asia Minor Association of Eleusis.
