The Utopia of Dreams is a field of expanded imagination around the future, under the perspective of the Eleusinian youth. Through ideas, constructions, blueprints, maps and with the help of their big imagination, eighteen teenage participants of the educational programme Constructing Utopia, created the digital and material worlds. The artworks of The Utopia of our Dreams suggest how the city and city’s life can be rebuilt through symbiosis.
The educational program Mystery 171 Constructing Utopia, aiming at the creation of collective artworks, was conceived by the artist Ioanna Neophytou, designed and implemented in collaboration with the Hellenic Children’s Museum and carried out in April-May of 2023 at the Children Support Centre of Elefsis (Friendly Nest), in the framework of Elefsis 2023 European Capital of Culture. It had a duration of 9 weekly meetings of 3 hours, during which the participants created The Utopia of our Dreams in the digital game Minecraft and through various material creations.
